I’m new to this whole blogging thing, so bare with me while I get the hang of this. I had never considered writing my own blog before, but after following an old friend’s blog for the last few months, I’ve realized that this is a great way to keep my friends and family updated on what’s going on in our lives (Thanks Beth :-) ). This is also a great way to record our family memories. So here goes nothin’ :-).
2009 has been a pretty good year so far. My daughter Alanya (Allie) turned 5 on January 8. We celebrated her birthday at Chuck E. Cheese with her cousins and preschool friends. She was so excited because she had been begging me to have her party there for a whole year!
That night, after the party, we went to see Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy. It was a great show! That was my first time going to an ice show, and we can’t wait to go back again!
February was a pretty exciting month as well. My husband Al decided that since he was already in the mode of bettering himself by going back to school, he also decided to become more healthy as well. He has lost a whole person over the last several months, over 130 lbs! I am so proud of him for taking the necessary steps to become healthier. We want to keep him with us as long as possible. I hope he will outlive me! I don’t think I would handle being a widow too well. Here is his before weightloss pictures:
And these pictures were taken in July. The first 2 pictures were taken when when we went out to dinner at Porter’s the night before our 6th anniversary.:
These 2 were taken on our 6th anniversary. Al wanted us to have pics taken together to show off his new body. Doesn’t my hubby look fantastic!
I love him more and more everyday. In early June, we took a family vacation to Orlando, FL. We had a blast! The last time we went, Allie was 18 months. This time she was able to appreciate it so much more. My son Quincy had a blast as well.
Quincy was so excited to be at the happiest place on earth- Disney World ‘s Magic Kingdom!
Me and Allie at the Crystal Palace for lunch. Here, we got to dine with Winnie the Pooh and Friends.
Quincy was scared of the Pooh characters up close. Every time one came near us, he hid under his hat. I guess he thought if he couldn’t see them, then they weren’t really there. Al and Quincy at Crystal Palace.Allie with Piglet.
Al being silly
Quincy was pooped after a long day with no nap
We drove out to Cocoa Beach for a day
We really enjoyed watching the Shamu show at Sea WorldSo those were the biggest highlights of the year so far. I’m sure it’s only going to get better. Check back often. I will continue to update my blog whenever I have something interesting to share.
